[Painting] You roll a 20 (required 10). Critical success‼

After some brainstorming, you and Moonflower decide to theme your miniature boat after its working namesake: Moonflower as the outside, and yourself as the inside.

Moonflower: "Oooh! I do like Trailblazer bein' inside of m—"

Apple Basket: "Uh, any of you good at mixin' colours?"

Recalling some arts and crafts experience you've had as a filly, you decide to give it a shot. Starting with your own coat colour, you mix roughly two thirds yellow, one third magenta, and a hint of black to obtain a colour that looks just about right.

Moonflower: "Hey, it looks jus' like you! Can you do me?"

You try your luck again, this time mixing half and half cyan and magenta, and then adding some black until it darkens to the bat pony's coat colour.

Apple Basket: "I'll say, you're pretty good at this! So uh, how'd you make orange again?"

Once you have a few more colours mixed and ready to use, you and your friends get to work. And though you have two ponies collaborating on yours, it doesn't go much faster; between touching up Moonflower's overzealous strokes, and engaging in the occasional playful paintbrush fight, you are fortunate that this is not part of the race...

By the time you are done painting, the western sun's golden light has begun to deepen. You triumphantly plant a miniature blue flag on the stern of the Moonblazer as the finishing touch, then step back to admire your work.

While your boat flaunts the personal style of a flowery and winged hull for Moonflower, and a star upon its deck for you, Apple Basket's craft presents a more sober design, with warm colours to contrast with the sky-lit waters.

Moonflower: "Oh, cool! Is that a smaller version of our sailboat?"

Apple Basket: "Heh, that's what I was goin' for."

You compliment everypony on a job well done, and with your miniature boats ready for the big event tonight, you ponder what to do next.

Along the river, the watermill's wheel briefly stops, then slowly turns in reverse. On a distant road, you spot what looks like Sea Swirl walking with somepony you don't recognize. From the east, dozens of bat ponies arrive at the festival together, and begin to explore excitedly.
