You take a stroll around the capital as it slowly stirs awake. A wave of aromas from Restaurant Row begins to wash over the districts, beckoning the elite to their morning ritual, where each will pay more for less, and flaunt refined yet identical tastes.

While exploring countless paved roads and grassy parks, you chat with your friends about this and that. Eventually, the subject of the Yggdrasil tree comes up, and you realize that neither of you ever elaborated on the visions you've had in the Mists.

Moonflower: "Oh yeah! I think we all had some sorta dream about our past, right?"

You nod, curious about the bat pony's experience, should she be willing to share.

Moonflower: "Yuh uh! It started with the first thing I remember. It was back when I was a super small pony; my parents travelled to Starfalls Town for the first time."

Apple Basket: "Oh, so you weren't born there?"

Moonflower: "Nuh uh, they're part of the Crimsonsand Clan, from way south across the desert. Their oracle told them that I should grow up with the Starfalls Clan, so we moved over there."

Apple Basket: "Right. Uh, sorry for interruptin'."

Moonflower: "Heehee! It's okay. So in my vision, as soon as we got to Starfalls, I was already big enough to learn to fly! It kinda felt like I was jumpin' over a lot of memories, 'cause that took at least a whole year.

Then, I dunno how I got there, but I was outside. I think it was my first time sneakin' out, and there were all sorts'a cool plants that didn't grow down in the caves. It was kinda weird 'cause I know 'em now, but it felt like I'd never seen 'em before!

So I got some seeds, and brought 'em to my house. And by the time I got there, the plants were already planted and bloomin'!"

You mention that it reminds you of her cutie mark story.

Moonflower: "You remember! That's right, it's how I got my cutie mark, and then we had a lil' party before my parents went back home to Crimsonsand Cove.

Then a bunch'a stuff happened, and at the end, I got summoned by the Oracle. And Blazer was there, too! Then the Yggdrasil tree appeared in the Oracle's crystal, and then we all woke up there!"

You remark that Moonflower's experience wasn't all that different from your own.

Moonflower: "Ooh! What was your vision like?"

You recount the memories you went through, from waking up at the orphanage with Honourshine, to the first anniversary party, to getting your cutie mark, and finally leaving Foalshire.

Moonflower: "Aww! I didn't get to smooch anyone at the end of my dream. Heeheehee!"

Apple Basket: "Still, those all sound like real memorable times. Maybe they've got somethin' in common that brought 'em up."

Moonflower: "Midgardsormr made it sound like he was testin' us, but aside from the oracle part, I don't remember seein' anythin' that had to do with our quest."

To playfully paraphrase the great serpent, you suggest that it may simply be beyond the understanding of mere mortals.

Apple Basket: "Well, I reckon he's got a point there. I can't even make sense of my own dreams most of the time!"

Moonflower: "Oooh, what kinda dreams you havin'?"

As you continue your exploration of Canterlot, you begin to recognize some places you've heard about on your travels.

  • Beyond a bridge, you find a lone ivory tower overlooking grassy fields, where Dawn Break mentioned Moondancer often goes to study.
  • Along a residential street, you notice a giant doughnut perched above an inviting door, marking the best bakery in town according to Lemon Hearts, Minuette and Twinkleshine.
  • By the waterfalls, you chance upon a remarkably unassuming beauty parlour, which you once overheard Sweet Biscuit recommend to Sea Swirl.
