Thinking about earning a few bits, you ask Aqua Skies and Marine Wave if they know where you can find some work around here.
Marine Wave: "Hmm, I'm afraid not. I mean, it isn't uncommon for sailors to hire extra hooves every now and then, but those kinds of jobs aren't done overnight."
Aqua Skies: "If you're just looking to lend a hoof to whoever needs it, then you'll want to talk to Tattle Tail; if there's anypony in Amblerta who keeps track of those things, it's her."
Marine Wave: "Oh, that's true! That filly is always in the know. You should be able to find her down the next road, out and about by the beach area."
You thank the mares for the information, and make a note to visit Tattle Tail after lunch.
Moonflower: "How 'bout'cha, Basket? Are you comin' with us all the way back to Everfree?"
Apple Basket: "Uh, well, it would be a shame not to see this adventure through to the end, right? But I wouldn't want to make my family worry 'bout me for too long, either. It's already been a while."
Moonflower: "Ooh! Why don't'cha spend the night at your house, and we'll come get'cha tomorrow? We can totally make the detour, right, Blazer?"
You agree to stop by Greenhoof Grove tomorrow. And with that settled, you prepare to carry on with your plans for the day.
Marine Wave: "It's been a pleasure! And if you two need somewhere to stay, you know which door to knock on."
Aqua Skies: "Before midnight, if you can."
Apple Basket: "And I reckon I should get goin' if I want to make it to dinner tonight. I'll see you gals tomorrow!"
After some hugs and nuzzles, you bid farewell to Apple Basket, Aqua Skies, and Marine Wave, and go your separate ways...
A fresh breeze gently brushes through your mane, and rustles the leaves of bushes and trees along the road. You and Moonflower wander the southern city streets, looking around every corner for a certain filly.
Before long, you come across one such filly enjoying a frozen treat — but most importantly, matching the description you were given: a beige coat with short brown hair, and sporting a red and yellow cap. You approach her, and ask if she happens to be Tattle Tail.
Tattle Tail: "Who's asking?"
You put on your best smile, and introduce yourselves to the youngster. She gives you the once-over, then returns a smug grin.
Tattle Tail: "I thought you looked familiar. That doesn't strike me as Tonsoria's work, though. Anyway, you were looking for me?"
You nod, and tell her that you were advised to see her about earning some bits. She takes a moment to think it over.
Tattle Tail: "I get it. So you're here to help, huh? Sure, I've got a few offers that might interest you."
You let her know that you are listening.
Tattle Tail: "So, in the market's toy department, I heard that Ruby and Sapphire Heart are looking for ponies to test out some new experimental flavour-enhancing product. They're paying ten bits a pair, which isn't all that much, and it's a one-time deal only, but it's easy money.
If easy's not your style, though, there's also Azure Spark who's getting low on blue dye. She's paying up to fifty bits per hoofful of pigment, but how much you'll actually find out there might as well be a roll of the dice. If you want to know more, you can always ask her.
Or, you could do a job for me. I've been hearing about some old ruins recently. They say it's been taken over by zombies, of all things. Sounds dangerous, so I'm not telling you to go there, but I've got a hundred bits waiting for whoever can figure out what's behind these rumours for me."

You get TV Tropes page!
HINT: You now have a TV Tropes page. Search "d20 pony" on TV Tropes to reveal its contents.
Though, make note of that. Probably a shard of the seed.
I think our skills and Moonfloower's perfectly line up with getting blue dye.
Plus, it's 50 bits _per hoof-full_. We could make a lot out of that!
But then again, a hundred bits is a lot of money, not to mention that an ancient ruin infested with zombies sound intriguing. We have some magic items that could help us dealing with them and if worse comes to worse we should still be able to handle ourself in a fight.
Tell Tattle Tail that we’re interested in her job and ask for more details. What can she tell us about these ruins? And who excatly is spreading these rumors about zombies?
First, what do we know about real zombies (if they even exist)? If they're as slow as some stories make them out to be, we might be able to run away without risk of worsening our condition? Let's ask Moonflower how she feels about zombies, because she might need to carry the adventure. It sounds like we'll also be leaning on Moonflower's skills for the pigment job, though… we'll have to find a way to make it up to her if she agrees.
After we ask Moonflower for her input on the idea, be sure to waggle your eyebrows and suggest that we might still have time after our busy day to see what Ruby and Sapphire have in mind.
I don't have a reason to suspect otherwise, but do you watch the contact email as closely as you seem to watch the comments here? I might scrape more thoughts together at some point, but it'd take up more space than I think is appropriate for the comments.
That's not to say that I think they're worthless for all non-command conversation. I'll still drop comments around as appropriate.
