[Dancing] You roll a 20 (required 10). Critical success‼

Drawn by the performance, you decide to stick around the town square and listen to the music for a while longer.

Dawn Break: "Alright. We'll see you at the race!"

You nod, and wave to the unicorn sisters as they retrace their steps back northeast to distant campfires flickering beyond the lake. Then, you turn your attention back to the stage.

For a moment, you lock eyes with Windcaller as he plays his signature vessel flute. You offer him a grin, and he returns a subtle nod.

Green-Haired Mare: "Is that Apple Basket I see?"

Apple Basket: "Huh? Oh, howdy Apple Fritter!"

Apple Fritter: "Well, I'll be! It's been years! C'mere, cuz, let's catch up while we dance!"

Apple Basket: "Whuh—!"

Before he has a chance to so much as think to protest, Apple Basket is dragged off and onto the dance floor.

Moonflower: "Heehee! Looks like Basket is popular!"

You nod in amusement, and ask Moonflower if she would like to dance as well.

Moonflower: "Oooh! It looks fun, but I dunno how."

You unequip 3rd Place Medal.

You tell your younger friend that you'll teach her, and take off your loose accessories, before offering her your hoof. When she takes it, you instruct her to rear up onto her hind legs along with you, so that you both lean against each other for balance.

Then, with your other forehoof around her barrel, and hers upon your shoulder, you slowly begin to teach her the steps. She learns quickly, and soon, you both move to the rhythm of the music, swaying together as one, and occasionally twirling your partner around as though it were second nature.

Moonflower: "You're super good at this! How'd you learn?"

As you ponder her question, you recall that you had a lot of practice when you were younger. At special events, you wanted to dance with your best friend Honourshine, but she was reluctant to try — let alone in front of everypony.

And so, you took it upon yourself to learn the dances long in advance, and to practise them with more experienced fillies and colts, so that you could teach her in private when the time came.

Moonflower: "Awww! You were always a super generous pony."

You reply that it was always worth it. As the ballad concludes, you gently tilt the bat pony backward, and share a romantic kiss under the coloured lights.

A few minutes after returning to sidelines, you are rejoined by Apple Basket.

Apple Basket: "Phew! Sorry about that, gals! That was my cousin, Apple Fritter, and she got real excited to meet another Apple at this here festival."

Moonflower: "Heeheehee! It's okay, we had fun too!"
